Yes! Talk about one-stop-shopping! I started and finished all of my shopping as planned. Of course we didn't do as much as most, I suppose, and that definitely helps, but we had goals, and we met them as closely as we could.
It feels so very good to be done. Now all that is left is wrapping. Tonight we are taking the boys to see Santa and the lights. We did this at the same time last year and had so much fun. I distinctly remember that it was a very stressful and troublesome time for us, and yet we were determined to cherish and savor the mini-trip we had to the "big city." And it worked. When I look back on the pictures I took and think about our evening out, I have wonderful memories.
That's my plan for this year as well. It is possible it will be made more memorable with thunderstorms, temps in the low 60s, and chances of tornadoes. Yep. Can you believe it? Last year was blustery cold. This year could feel like spring. Until Thursday. But that's okay. I'll probably be indoors wrapping gifts.
Merry Christmas!

Happy December 22nd!
What a day I have planned. I am going to start, and I pray, FINISH my Christmas shopping today. The weather is springlike, hovering in the mid to high 50s for a high, though still a bit nippy right now. We have a 90% chance of storms for tomorrow, so it is cloudy. It looks like it could be turning spring out there right now with the birds singing. However, it is going to turn back cold, and we actually have a chance of flurries for Thursday. To say I am excited about that is an understatement.
I have been missing this blog and my bloggy friends. There are some updates and changes I want to make, but they may have to wait until after Christmas, after the shopping, the wrapping, the cleaning, and the cooking, the loving and the cherishing of the boys.
There's a lot of catching up I need to do, but I am looking forward with hope. I pray God gives you a special blessing today ~ the gift of seeing the positive. That's what I will be aiming for today. Join me?

Cleaning
Today finds me in a cleaning mood, and boy, does our place need it! I am in a mood to purge and throw away, but instead I've got the basic everyday cleaning to do first, then we'll see how far I get with the other.
I started with my farms on Facebook. I tell you what, I absolutely love to farm on Farm Town and Farmville. I even made farms under my husband's name, too, so I have four to tend. It's just light-hearted fun and scratches my decorating itch a bit. I got on those this morning and harvested the trees then sold a lot of them to make room for the Christmas decorations that I am sure they will be coming up with very soon.
Well, back to the real world. It's time for me to get busy. I just wanted to mention since many of you know Dawn Carlson that I won her sweet giveaway for the Steven Curtis Chapman book and Cinderella CD. Thanks, Dawn!
Happy Saturday, friends!

Books
I just finished reading Stephenie Meyer's The Host. Of course you all probably know already that she wrote the Twilight series, which I loved and NEVER dreamed that I would, (and that New Moon, based on book #2 opens this Friday!)
I have to say I really really enjoyed The Host. It was so totally different from anything that I ever read that it had me hating to put it down. I was totally surprised as I had no idea what it was going to be about. I don't normally read book covers or excerpts as I want to "figure it out" on my own. Have you read it? What did you think?
And now, most importantly, what's the best fiction, preferrably Christian fiction book that you've read lately? I need ideas!

It's Been Awhile
Hello, friends. Facebook has stolen me away, and life has made me retreat. When I get on the computer, it's usually to check out the news on Facebook and to farm on Farm Town and Farmville. Facebook is just so much faster, and it fits this time in my life.
I miss this blog and all of my blog friends, but I am not missing the personal aspect of it at this time. This year especially has made me crave privacy. Do you ever feel that way? Like you just wish you could fold in on yourself and curl up until the storm passes? What a year this has been.
So for now, I'll take the lighthearted Facebook time and run with it. I'm sure this blog and the deep friendships I established here will call me back one day, hopefully soon. I do miss the writing, the posting, the visiting, and the sharing. ~~~

More Changes
I went to the dentist today. My mouth is sore, and my face is a tad bit swollen, but I am so glad to have gotten the work done that I did.
You know how other people daydream about cosmetic surgery? Well, my thing is my teeth. If I won the lottery, I'd immediately get braces. Yep. That would be my thing. Now, the work I had done today was not cosmetic, but basic work that needed to be done, but that doesn't make me any less excited. I certainly envy those with perfect teeth.
Well, if you're my friend on Facebook, then you know we received some really rough news last Sunday morning. Our pastor and his wife have resigned. They are called to another church in another state, and we are reeling. We LOVE our pastors. It almost feels like a death we're having to deal with.
I know God has great things in store for us and for them, and I am so ready for the great things. I just need a little while to wrap my mind around this before I can talk more about it. In the meantime, we are going to cherish every church service we have left with them. I'm looking forward to church tonight.
God bless you, my friends!

The Good News
Well, the good news I alluded to on my last post was referring to our revival at church last week. Deon and Charmaine Hockey, evangelists from South Africa, came to our church. They've been there before, and we love the Hockeys. Please attend their meetings if you ever have the opportunity. They travel all over the U.S. as well as the world and see and take part in many, many miracles.
What I wanted to share was that besides the fact that we saw many souls saved and decisions for people to give their lives back to Jesus, we also saw many miracles and deliverances. One set of miracles in particular was exceptionally awesome.
I witnessed people's uneven legs grow to the same length!
It's true!
The healing anointing was flowing, and Brother Deon felt like there was a special anointing for back pain to be healed. He asked that if anyone had any back pain to please come forward to be prayed for. There were several.
Each person sat square in the pew. I was right behind them, leaning over them. Bro. Deon lifted their legs and lined their heels up. Many had an obvious difference in length which was causing their back pain. Doctors had told several of them that that was one source of their pain.
We began to pray and before our eyes the heels lined up equally in a matter of seconds, over and over again! My sister was one of them. People we know that could not bend in certain ways were moving pain free, doing things they haven't been able to do.
My sister closed her eyes and prayed so she did not see her leg grow, but certainly felt it! She said it felt very warm, and she could just feel it lengthening. How cool is that?
More miracles are expected to be completed out of these services as God doesn't always complete the healing instantaneously but over a period of time.
What a great time we had hearing the Word and worshiping and praising God. He is worthy of our praise. He longs to have a RELATIONSHIP with us.

And I have to say He is still in the miracle-working business.
